The Ukrainian side never made any official requests for a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the events to commemorate the Holocaust victims in Israel, Ukrainian president’s aide Andriy Yermak has said.

“There were no requests for a meeting. We did not send any official requests. President Zelensky said that as Putin would be present there, the only issue he [Zelensky] was ready to discuss was the swap [of prisoners], on which they agreed during a phone conversation on December 31,” he told reporters on Jan. 30.

Yermak also said that Zelensky did not have informal meetings with Putin in Israel.
